Exotic Flowers

 by Sandra

These  are  the  fragrant  Frangipani

or  Plumeria  which  Hawaiian  girls  use

to make  the  traditional  flower  leis.

There  is  no  pollen  and  therefore

no  allergies!

Orchids  are  also  mixed  in  to

make  flower  leis,  as  well.

In  Indonesia,  if  one  is  buried

beneath  this  tropical  tree,  it  is  said

that  one  is  blessed  because  the  gods

bedeck  one's  grave  with  fresh

flowers  daily!

Frangipani  was  the  flower  which

gave  Frangipanier  the  idea  of

extracting  fragrant  oil  from

the  blossoms  to  create  perfumes!

Most varieties have unique

floral scents ranging from

bubblegum to light citrus.
